NATIVE HEART Vol 1

We have men among us who pretend to know the right path,

but will not consent to show it without pay! I have no faith in their paths,

but believe that every man must make his own path!

Black Hawk, Sauk

Grandfather, Great Spirit, once more behold me on Earth and lean to hear my

feeble voice. You lived first, and you are older than all need, older than all prayer.

All things belong to you-the two-legged, the four- legged, the wings of the air,

and all green things that live. You have set the powers of the four quarters

of the Earth to cross each other. You have made me cross the good road,

and the road of difficulties, and where they cross the place is holy. Day in, day out,

forevermore, you are the life of things.

Black Elk, Oglala Sioux

      • Too true, Eddie. We only need look within to find our path. If people sometimes need guidance in that, then they should find people willing to give it freely, for those people will more likely be genuine.

      • Thank you Paul. I appreciate your knowledgable input. You’re right, help is always available when asked for. At times a butterfly or a stranger have been messagers with important pieces to the puzzle. It matters how well we listen.
