How Do You Know

42[1]

You say that you are sent to instruct us how to worship the Great Spirit
agreeably to his mind; and if we do not take hold of the religion which
you white people teach we shall be unhappy hereafter? You say that you are
right, and we are lost. How do you know this to be true? We understand
that your religion is written in a book. If it was intended for us as
well as for you, why has not the Great Spirit given it to us; and not only
to us, but why did he not give our forefathers the knowledge of that book,
with the means of understanding it rightly?

  1. Wonderful Quote Eddie… So many worship words in one book or another..and yet the true Creative Force needs no words …. We but have to feel our connection to the Divine Source of ALL Life… and the only word needed is but one.. LOVE……. ❤

  2. Different revelations for different people. Easy as that.

The question shows one of the greatest misunderstandings of so-called Christianity (which in truth is Paulinism from its very beginnings), i.e. the claim of having received a teaching for the whole world, though it had been intended for the Jews of the time, only.

Therefore, Red Jacket’s question beautifully reverberates those Christian’s wrong claims unto themselves.

Many thanks for sharing this. 🙂

  3. Such sound thinking on the part of this sincere man, teaching us even today what is a very deep thought that could free us from a lot of dogma, perhaps.

    • Thank you very much as this is most kind of you. ‘Eddie Two Hawks’ is an award
free blog and therefore will have to tell that thinking of me warms my heart.
Enjoy a most delightful evening dear friend, Eddie

  4. very essential and universal, too. currently, our world has to deal with big problems regarding religion. there is no harmony between the world religions and every world religion sees itself as the best and devalues other religions. i believe there is a close relationship between the human soul and the universal soul. so that the innermost of one is the innermost part of the other.

    • We are learning and growing however, slowly. May the Great Spirit bless us all on our road of self discovery and collective understanding. Thank you for your kind response

  5. All the judgement that has caused so much sufferring…….we look to the past and say how terrible……but here we are still doing the same and not seeing our atrocities to those we see as others. No answer but to see and in that seeing hatred could be put to rest.

  6. Perhaps because the Creator knew which of the nations needed “homework” and those that did not…?
Tongue in cheek from one who has taught her children both.
