Civilized Societies

The more I consider the condition of the white men, the
more fixed becomes my opinion that, instead of gaining,
they have lost much by subjecting themselves to what they
call the laws and regulations of civilized societies.

  1. Agreed. As with any bureaucracy the lines of purpose become blurred with the need to fit in and not stray from what our current generation has become. As an FYI, I am a 26 year old Canadian white man. There are many things I disagree with that our society has developed into. Unfortunately we have created a localized world where the standards are so low, not so much because of law, but because of our own civil disregard for human accomplishment.

    • Thank you very much for your most interesting, thoughtful, and kind response.
There have been many fine examples of good works through the years. They do not
however, completely overshadow wrongs that occur.

  2. Sir Winston asks; Is there any such thing as a civilised society?
Mr Midnight adds that in his opinion, the human race, especially the “modern” human race, really has not much to show for if it believes itself to be civilised. Civilised behaviour and respect to ALL THINGS appear to be not too important in today’s fast-paced life with many believing themselves to be just that – respectful and civilised. Perhaps one should take a little more time to observe ones own behaviour patterns before one conveniently assumes one is civilised. Best of greetings from the blog “Gilmours Nice Place”. A meow from Mr Midnight, purr purr from Sir Winston and a big thank you for writing the above post. 🙂

  3. So true, and becoming more apparent each day as time goes on. I don’t know in what time period this Chief said this, but it was and is very wise words.

    • Civilization has wasted time for thousands of years. Building a better gun does not solve anything.
Kind words and thoughts you share are so very much appreciated Sue.
