Don’t Let The Fire Go Out

Be not like him who sits by his fireside
and watches the fire go out, then blows vainly
upon the dead ashes. Do not give up hope
or yield to despair because of that which is past,
for to bewail the irretrievable is the
worst of human frailties.

    • This is most kind of you Tiny. Thank you very much.
It is a new Year ahead of us. One with promise and good fortune untold.
May the gifts of love and kindness always be yours, Eddie

  1. Good morning, Eddie! I was just now appreciating this oh-so-wise quote, one I’ve never heard/seen/read before and thinking about how special that advice is – for anyone. I read it in the same reading session as news about a commuter plane crash in Costa Rica, very near where I once lived. They suspect it was wind related, and I’ve experienced those change-of-season winds on similar flights. It’s truly a morning for contemplating Life, and how quickly circumstances can change.

And after appreciating your wisdom for the day, there you are in cyberspace leaving a smile on my own doorstep! Thanks, I hope to be catching up on comments in the afternoon!
Time now to break that fast!

    • Hi there Lisa and great hearing from you. It has been a very busy holiday season for me as well,
and just now slowing down a little. ‘Catching up’ seems to be something that is going round.
Thanks so much for stopping by. Talk again soon, Eddie

kindness is always welcome
