The Consequences

Happiness is the consequence of personal effort.
You fight for it, strive for it, insist upon it, and
sometimes even travel around the world looking for
it. You have to participate relentlessly in the
manifestations of your own blessings. And once
you have achieved a state of happiness, you must
never become lax about maintaining it. You
must make a mighty effort to keep swimming
upward into that happiness forever,
to stay afloat on top of it.

  1. Yes yes yes! We need to learn to slow down! Sometimes when we think something will make us happy we do anything to get it. We need immediate gratification. But that path to happiness will prove difficult if you try to strictly control everything on your way there. You become the opposite of happy, and when we get what we want, we realize that it wasn’t worth sarcrificing our well-being for. I touch on this a little in my post about slowing down and appreciating what’s in front of you. I’m glad I found this post. It speaks to me.

    • Ieder van ons heeft een idee van wat ‘geluk’ voor ons kan zijn.
Zodra echt geluk is bereikt, wordt het iets voor jou
hoef je niet meer voor te ‘werken’, want je leeft in ‘geluk’!

kindness is always welcome
